What is the job of the resource room teacher?
The role of the resource room teacher is to work with students who have been identified as students who qualify for special education and have an individualized educational plan in place. Within that individualized educational plan, or IEP, specific goals and objectives are created. Think of the goals as the big, overarching, concepts we want to master within a year's time, and the objectives as the stepping stones used to reach those lofty goals. My job is to fill in the learning gaps so that goals can be reached and maintained.
